We are seeking all-stars to help support our expanding services to families at our South Waterfront Ronald McDonald House.
About You:
- You are outgoing, friendly, people person, comfortable interacting with adults and children.
- You are happy to lend a listening ear while ensuring that our home-like environment is safe, calm and comfortable for all.
- You work well in diverse, multicultural communities.
- You have computer proficiency, including email, Word, and Excel.
- You have strong attention to detail.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
About Us:
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon and SW Washington provides a "home away from home" for families with seriously ill children, and supports initiatives to improve pediatric health.
- Our independent statewide chapter is 34 years old and in 2019 will be operating four Ronald McDonald Houses where 79 pediatric patients and their families will stay for free and supported by specialized programs and care. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure a warm and welcome greeting to all families.
- Support in guest registration process: check in/check out, house tours, and access to their rooms.
- Tidy and sanitize community spaces as needed.
- Restock kitchen and pantry areas.
- Maintain proficiency in guest registration and guest management software systems.
- Elevate issues and problems to the Guest Services Staff.

Description
Whether it's greeting guests, leading arts & crafts classes or baking cookies, volunteers create a loving "home away from home" for families. "Meals from the Heart" volunteers create delicious treats for guests, and our Children’s Program volunteers lead playtime activities for children offering respite to parents of seriously ill children.

- This is a weekly role, with 3-hour shifts in the mornings, afternoons, or evenings, all days of the week. Openings dependent on individual needs at each house. We ask that volunteers commit to at least 6 months.
