Apply to be a Homework Club volunteer! Cathedral Gardens, part of EAH Housing, is a nonprofit affordable housing unit located in downtown Oakland, CA. Residents are low-income families who have limited resources. Children who live at the housing unit have trouble concentrating on their homework and need tutoring. This is a great opportunity for high school students to gain some experience as well as college students who specialize in Education, Child Development, etc. Responsibilities involve looking after children and teenagers (ages 5-12) and assisting them with homework for an hour (from 3:30pm-4:45pm) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays. We can work with your schedule if you can only make a few of those days, although consistent and weekly commitment until the end of the semester or academic year is preferred. Note that all volunteers must go through a background check. Contact the Resource Coordinator, Connie at conniem.chan@eahhousing.org if you are interested. Thank you!
