Apply to be a Homework Club volunteer! Cathedral Gardens, part of EAH Housing, is a nonprofit affordable housing unit located in downtown Oakland, CA. Residents are low-income families who have limited resources. Children who live at the housing unit have trouble concentrating on their homework and need tutoring. This is a great opportunity for high school students to gain some experience as well as college students who specialize in Education, Child Development, etc. Responsibilities involve looking after children and teenagers (ages 5-12) and assisting them with homework for a little over an hour (from 3:30pm-4:45pm) on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays (3pm-4pm). We can work with your schedule if you can only make one or two of those days, although consistent and weekly commitment until the end of the semester or academic year is preferred. Note that all volunteers must go through a background check. Contact the Resource Coordinator, Connie at conniem.chan@eahhousing.org if you are interested. Thank you!
