Job Title: Weekend Youth Program Coordinator

Job Type: Volunteer

Loaves, Fishes, & Computers (LFC) helps low-income families, seniors, veterans, people with disabilities and non-profit organizations obtain dependable computers and inexpensive technical support. LFC is currently soliciting applications for the position of Weekend Youth Program Coordinator (WYPC).

Position Description : WYPC is responsible for training new youth volunteers in all relevant LFC responsibilities and duties. The WYPC will assign responsibilities and monitor the completion of assignments. The WYPC will work closely with staff and volunteers to determine whether a volunteer is ready to be promoted to new responisibilties.

Location: Salinas

Salary :this is a volunteer position.

Responsibilities:

  • The Weekend Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for providing training in LFC’s Administration, Equipment Processing and Quality Assurance procedures for youth ages 14-18

  • The Youth Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and evaluating programming, special events and services for youth volunteering on Saturdays

  • Monitor and encourage students’ academic and social progress by acting as a liaison to key teachers and staff at program site

  • Assist with the plans for integrating student efforts within the organization

  • Collaborate with staff, tutors, and other volunteers to develop and implement training plans.

  • Engage students in learning through well-organized one-on-one and group activities with volunteers

  • Maintain consistent, effective communication between all tutors (Volunteers)

  • Ensure safety and well-being of all students and volunteers.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of related professional experience; experience working in youth development or in an educational setting is preferred.

  • CPR/First Aid Certification is required within six (6) months.

  • Experience working in a cross-culturally diverse environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Able to work independently. Must be flexible, capable of working under pressure with deadlines and managing multiple priorities.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong computer skills particularly in MS Office applications and experience with databases.

  • Must have reliable transportation and maintain valid driver’s license and insurance coverage

  • Must be able to attend weekend events as necessary.

Position Reports to: Executive Director and Programs and Operations Manager

Hours: tuesday thru Saturday 11am to 5pm
