About

Child Advocates is looking for volunteers to serve as Educational Advocates who have interest in and experience working in education. The Volunteer Educational Advocates will work in tandem with Child Advocates staff to provide individualized assistance and inter-system coordination to students and families in order to develop positive communication and improved educational opportunities/outcomes for students in the Marion County Child Welfare System. This advocacy will model positive and effective practices for students, families, staff, and peers to build capacity in all stakeholders to be able to maintain improved educational outcomes for all students and positive partnering for all families. Each educational volunteer must complete our CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) training with additional training around special education.
