The Victim/Witness Support Advocate will assist the Victim Advocate behind the scenes to update contacts for the advocate. They may call victims and witnesses prior to court dates to verify addresses and request further documents. The Advocate Assistant may file, prepare spreadsheets with victim names and addresses, and further support the advocate with needed office support. They may be requested to answer procedural questions about the unit procedures and the trial process. The Advocate Assistant may also be responsible for contacting victims to set up meeting times with the advocate and the Deputy District Attorney handling the case. They may annotate advocate files regarding the victim notification and enter these contacts into the Victim Database. This position will not require courtroom participation or work. The ideal applicant will be available during our normal business hours - Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-5pm.
