Volunteer provides practical, psychosocial and spiritual support to the hospice patient/family under the direction of the Volunteer Services Manager and in accordance with the Interdisciplinary and Volunteer Plan of Care.
- Serves as a companion for the patient and/or provides caregiver relief.
- May provide light housekeeping and meal preparation.
- May do shopping and errands.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Provides required documentation
- May provide for supplemental physical care (hygiene, ambulation, comfort, etc.) or other services (massage, beautician services, photography, etc.), with appropriate training/licensing/certifciations as required.
- Reports patient/family/caregiver response to interventions to hospice staff.
