Local Los Angeles volunteers needed!

Rescue + Freedom Project, (formerly Beagle Freedom Project), is an animal rights and advocacy organization that helps to rescue and home animals that were formerly used in laboratory experiments, or rescued from other abusive situations such as from puppy mills, hoarding cases or the illegal meat trade slaughter. There are a few different areas of opportunity for volunteers.

* Please note that we do not have a shelter or facility that holds animals.

OFFICE ASSISTANCE

We are looking for volunteers who would like to help out in our office, between 10am-5pm, Monday-Friday. We are looking for someone to come in for a few hours a day to help keep us organized! This can be a one-day volunteer position or we can set up a recurring weekly visit! Tasks can include, but are not limited to, everything from filling merchandise orders to helping write thank you notes to running quick errands. Recurring volunteers will likely receive additional duties as time goes by and will become a very important aspect of our daily week in the BFP office. A few R+FP volunteers have eventually become staff members!

In your response, please include if you are good at or enjoy any of the following: excellent penmanship, organizing on a large scale (merchandise), organizing on a small scale (filing), knowledge of Microsoft Word or Excel, or knowledge of Google Docs.

POLITICS

R+FP works hard every year to pass the Beagle Freedom Bill in multiple states. We are always looking for students interested in or majoring in political fields to help with our prep work for these major campaigns. We are currently expanding our Political Department, and any help is appreciated.

RESCUE DEPARTMENT

Volunteers are needed in the Foster, Adoption, Rescue Department to help with important tasks, such as responding to applications, recording application information and helping prep for out of state rescues. Volunteers in the Rescue Dept. will help with all of this and more!

Volunteers in this department are required to be available 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will need to spend 4-5 hours at the office. Training is required for a Rescue Dept. volunteer, so only dedicated applicants need apply.
