Since expanding to the Pacific Northwest in 2014, Techbridge Girls has been exciting, educating, and equipping girls from low-income communities in South King County by delivering high quality STEM programming that empowers young girls. Techbridge Girls envisions a world where all girls lead, contribute, and thrive in STEM. In order to achieve this we are recruiting passionate and dynamic women in science or technical roles to visit our afterschool programs as Role Models. We will equip you with tips and ideas for engaging with the girls, and the time commitment can range from a few hours on a single day to ongoing involvement over several years. We especially encourage women from underrepresented ethnic groups who reflect the diversity of the girls we serve to volunteer, but all women all welcome.

Our after-school programs empower girls in grades 5-8 at public schools in low-income communities through a combination of: fun, hands-on activities in a girl-friendly environment; science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) professionals serving as role models; field trips to local employers; and family events. Our program not only introduces girls to technical concepts and skills, but builds key character traits like perseverance and grit, and helps girls explore a wide array of STEM careers.
