Volunteers will be responsible for assisting in the coordinating, scheduling, marketing and supervision of facilities use events, including weddings, at both Ohio Historical Center and the Ohio Village.
-Assist and schedule facilities use of events
-Completing setup sheets, assigning staff and working with outside service personnel, including caterers, designers, and florists
-Assisting with the supervision of facilities use events
-Ensuring guest satisfaction and enforcement of OHS policies and procedures
-Assist in the development of packages and projects used to market facilities, products and food and beverage to potential clients
Education and/or Experience:
One year of restaurant related or hospitality industry experience is preferred but not required.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Basic typing or computer skills preferred, but not required
Ability to work with, advise, persuade and motivate a variety of people
Hours Vary. The position requires weekend, evening and holiday work.
Normal office environment and involves frequent contact with staff and public. Work can be stressful at times and may involve dealing with upset or difficult people. Workrequires weekend, evening and holiday hours.
Requires sitting, standing, stooping, bending and reaching. Requires eye hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, calculator, telephone and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision. May require lifting of up to 25 pounds.
