Just As I AM (JAIA) YOUth Empowerment Volunteer Oppotunity

JAIA,Just As IAm YOUth Empowerment, is a personal and spiritual development leadership program serving youth and young adults ages 13-24. Our mission is to empower youth/young adults towards self-mastery and leadership through use of social emotional learning, Ethical development and Mindfulness techniques, for the purpose of promoting positive youth development. We are a 501(c)3 non profit organization, serving youth in the NYC area and abroad virtually and in person .

We are currently seeking an Executive Assistant to support with the following:

JAIA’s Executive Assistant will be instrumental in helping JAIA increase our capacity to serve more youth. The assistant will work closely with our Exec Director, our media and marketing team and our volunteer and youth council coordinators and add their creativity and efficiency to our team.

Executive Assistant Position Description

Report to Founder and Executive Director of the organization

● Maintain communication with stakeholders (e.g. mailing lists, donor lists, emails, phone
calls, newsletters, etc.)

● Assist in daily financial management tasks (e.g. placing orders, managing accounts
receivable/payable, petty cash, and coordinating with JAIA's treasurer and bookkeeper)

● Organize and maintain filing system (electronic and paper)

● Perform additional administrative tasks as needed per Executive Director

Requirements:

  • History of office management, administrative or assistant experience
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, experience with social media platforms esp. FB, Twitter, Instagram

Schedule: 2 days per week 8 hours
