Just As I AM (JAIA) YOUth Empowerment Volunteer Oppotunity

JAIA,Just As IAm YOUth Empowerment, is a personal and spiritual development leadership program serving youth and young adults ages 13-24. Our mission is to empower youth/young adults towards self-mastery and leadership through use of Universal Life Principles and Mindfulness techniques, for the purpose of promoting positive youth development. We are a 501(c)3 non profit organization, located in East New York Brooklyn, serving youth in the NYC area and abroad.

We are currently seeking an Executive Assistant to support with the following:

Executive Assistant Position Description

Report to Founder and Executive Director of the organization

● Maintain communication with stakeholders (e.g. mailing lists, donor lists, emails, phone
calls, newsletters, etc.)

● Assist in daily financial management tasks (e.g. placing orders, managing accounts
receivable/payable, petty cash, and coordinating with JAIA's treasurer and bookkeeper)

● Organize and maintain filing system (electronic and paper)

● Perform additional administrative tasks as needed per Executive Director

Requirements:

  • History of office management, administrative or assistant experience
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, experience with social media platforms esp. FB, Twitter, Instagram

Schedule: 2 days per week 8 hours
