Education volunteers at the Colorado Railroad Museum are trained volunteers that introduce the museum and its collection to a variety of museum audiences attending special community programs. Education volunteers are generalists who enjoy history and working with the public. They work with the Curator of Education and Exhibits to assist and/or lead specific public programming in order to meet the mission and stated goals of museum. Education volunteers can sign up for specific programs such as museum family days, storytime and craft, adult lecture series, adult book club, spring break, and summer camps on an as needed basis. They have diverse backgrounds and a desire to share their love of Colorado history and railroading using interactive teaching techniques and following the museums interpretive themes for both the general public and school audience.
