The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care of Maryland is in need of volunteers with wonderful sewing skills for our Memory Bear Program. We have hospice patients who would love to have teddy bears created from their clothing to give to their loved ones as a way to remember them by. If you would like to become a Memory Bear Volunteer, please call Seasons Hospice at 888-523-6000 or email Karleen Lombard, Manager of Volunteer Services, at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will be creating a touching memento that family members can hug and cherish for a lifetime. Seasons Hospice Foundation will provide all of the supplies necessary to make these adorable teddy bears.
