ORGANIZATION: Farm Sanctuary

Time Commitment Required: Two regular tour days each month for 6 months (May-October).

Experience Requirements: Knowledge about farm animal issues and commitment to veganism required.

Responsibilities: Volunteers may assist with all aspects of the on-site visitor program, including: welcoming guests to the sanctuary; answering questions on veganism and factory farming; staffing the gift shop and assisting with purchases; assisting with tours by helping with gates and; assisting with cleaning and upkeep of Visitor Barn and visitor cabins. Volunteers must be especially mindful of safety and proper messaging with guests.

Qualifications: Knowledgeable about farm animal issues and committed to veganism, comfortable working in and around animal areas, ability to effectively communicate with the public, willingness to work in all weather conditions, ability to perform some physical labor and light lifting, reliable and dependable, team player, positive attitude.

Specifications: We request a minimum commitment of two regular tour days (Saturday and/or Sunday in May, September, and October; Wednesday-Sunday in June, July, and August) each month for 6 months (May-October). Volunteer shifts are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Applicants available both Saturdays and Sundays are preferred; volunteer shifts can be discussed during the interview process.
