ORGANIZATION: Farm Sanctuary

Time Commitment Required: 1 full-day shift per week for a minimum of 3 months.

Experience Requirements: Minimum of 20 hours as a Volunteer Farm Assistant in the past year.

Responsibilities: Assist with various tasks including shelter laundry, shelter hospital cleaning, feeding and helping to care for animals who are current residents in the hospital area, animal monitoring projects, collecting eggs, cleaning animal bowls and troughs, and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: Ability to work in all weather conditions, ability to perform strenuous physical labor and heavy lifting, willingness to follow detailed Farm Sanctuary’s work protocols, commitment to Farm Sanctuary goals and programs. Previous animal care experience preferred but not required.

Specifications: All shelter volunteers must attend an orientation before volunteering at the sanctuary. Volunteers must commit to at least 1 shift per week for a minimum of 3 months, longer commitments are preferred. Shelter shifts begin at 7 a.m. and end at 4 or 5 p.m.
