Avalon Hospice is looking for volunteers to visit our patients in their homes or care facilities in the Columbia area. If you are willing to be a friendly visitor providing light conversation or sometimes just being a presence this may be the volunteer opportunity for you. It is a great way to pay it forward if you have had a loved one in hospice care.

We recognize that a person is more than a physical body and we provide skilled professionals and volunteers to assist with not only the physical needs, but emotional and spiritual needs as well.
The services you will give as a Hospice volunteer will profoundly improve the quality of our patient’s lives. Friendly visits enable families to keep their loved ones at home, around the people they love, and the things they love. Assisting with errands helps a tired family cope with their many challenges and allows them time with their loved one. Simply holding a patient’s hand can ease their mind and comfort their spirit.
Volunteering at Avalon Hospice (Murfreesboro) takes no advanced medical training or great commitment. It can be as simple as reading to, or spending time with a patient a few hours a week. It is small deeds of kindness that so profoundly enhance the lives of our patients and those who love them.
We'll work with your schedule.
