The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. The event coordinator assistant position duties include making phone calls, confirming vendors, guests, etc . Also coordinating the various personnel related to a particular event to ensure proper level of communication. The event coordinator assistant position can be done from an off site location for the majority of the needs. If they volunteer would like they can attend the events they are coordinating but those may be at various locations throughout the metroplex. Each week set deadlines will need to be met and a phone meeting will take place among UTH staff and the volunteer. At least 5 hours a week are expected for this position. Opportunity to work on various events throughout their tenure. Tenure is expected to be at least 3 months. Excellent communication and organization is expected in this position. Volunteers who succeed in this position are reliable, punctual, well spoken, good at taking initiative and thinking ahead. This position can be a volunteer position or used for class credit, practicum, or internship.
