We are collecting NONPERISHABLE and HEALTHY food for the Poverello Center, an organization that provides provided life-saving food and basic essentials for low-income, Broward County residents living with HIV/AIDS. Please, DO NOT donate anything that is dented, expired, or open.
Poverello serves nearly 2,600 individuals each year, providing them with food for nearly 1.5 million meals. With your help, we can help them continue serving the community.
Here are the following items we are looking for:
Beans
Instant, no-fat milk
Whole grain pasta
Brown rice or wild rice
Buckwheat
Dried fruit
Low-sodium and raw nuts and seeds
Quinoa pasta
Lentils
Low-sodium vegetables
100% fruit in 100% juice
Caned tuna in water
Canned turkey
Whole grain crackers
Whole wheat flour
Steel-cut or rolled oats
Whole grain cereal
Whole grain pasta
Dried peas
Dried herbs and spices with no salt
Healthy oils such as olive and grape seed
Green tea
Seaweed Snacks

Purpose
The purpose of Eat Right. Get Moving. Repeat! and Operation Frontline is to provide long-term solutions to inactivity, hunger, and poor nutrition by teaching parents and children how to get moving, read recipes, and to select, purchase, and prepare healthy low-cost food for their families. These programs allow parents and children to prepare creative and fun meals together providing an automatic opportunity to interact and strengthen relationships.
