Do you enjoy yard work, working with your hands, helping others, being outdoors and possibly taking family members along to help? Chore Corps could be the perfect fit for you!
As the weather begins to change, we are finding our elderly and disabled Care Receivers are hoping to have lawns cut, flower beds mulched and weeds pulled before fall and winter settle in. We also know that they would love to have leaves raked, snow shoveled and more -as the seasons begin to change. These volunteer assignments are an excellent way to volunteer as a family, spend time outdoors and truly make a difference in the life or lives of your neighbors in your community.
There are also opportunities to make small home repairs on the outside of the houses of some of our other Care Receivers who cannot afford a handy man.
We are hoping that once COVID-19 restrictions are eased on a more permanent basis, that we can also have volunteers help our Care Receivers with home repair projects indoors, as well as light housekeeping or cooking opportunities. We will definitely be sure to update this description as changes happen and we are able to do these things again.
Social distancing and other safety measures observed. Cloth masks and nitrile gloves provided to active volunteers.
