Howard University Dinner Fellowship

Samaritan Inns’ Dinner Fellowship Program provides a great opportunity for small groups to connect with the residents of Samaritan Inns. Businesses, law firms, churches, families, and friends have the opportunity not only to prepare and serve dinner, but also engage in community with our residents by sharing stories and fellowship over a delicious meal. The daily routine of sharing a meal and conversation is a vital part of the recovery process for the residents, so they truly benefit from your company.

Dinner Fellowship takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 3:30 pm to approximately 6pm. This allows for enough time for a brief orientation, prepare the meal, and enjoy it with our clients.

Groups are responsible for providing and cooking the meals, while the Samaritan Inns’ staff and residents are responsible for clean up. We have fully equipped kitchen facilities and a kitchen manager to assist and answer any questions you may have while you are here.

About Samaritan Inns

Mission Statement

Melding good business with compassion, Samaritan Inns is dedicated to empowering homeless men and women with addictions to rebuild their lives through recovery here in our nation's capital.

Description

By offering the necessary opportunity, structure, and encouragement, those that choose recovery are provided with a way to free themselves from the hopelessness of addiction and discover a new, more fulfilling way of life. With care, we have developed a comprehensive, three-phase continuum of housing, accountability, and support which includes a 28-day Intensive Recovery Program, a six-month Transitional Living Program, and a longer-term Affordable Housing Program. This allows our residents to remain drug and alcohol free, live independently, reconnect with their families and participate constructively in the life of our communmity.
