If you’re looking for a service day with an animal shelter, consider signing your team, group, organization or company up to assist at Tails Humane Society!
Tails offers the following to service groups of 10 or less:
1.) Crafting Crews: These group crafting sessions enable your team or group to help the animals in a practical way by creating toys and other enrichment items using everyday recyclable materials. Your group will be responsible for collecting and providing the materials for your session. Tails will coordinate a time to provide a humane education tour during your crafting crew session as a thank you for creating these items.
2.) Service Days: In addition to making toys and beds for our cats and dogs, Tails Humane Society also offers a handful of other hands-on opportunities for those groups that want to get down and dirty to help us take care of some of our daily chores that keep the shelter running smoothly. This includes cleaning and scrubbing areas of our shelter, organizing shelter rooms and helping with special projects.
3.) Donation or Fundraising Drives: Your team or group can offer to host a donation or fundraising drive, using the Tails Humane Society wishlist. Tails will schedule a donation drop-off time and provide a humane education tour to your group as a thank you.
To help us in the facilitation of these events, we ask groups to schedule at least one month in advance, giving your group time to collect supplies for the crafting crews and/or time for Tails Humane Society to plan your group's service day/humane education tour sessions.
Crafting Crews and Service Day Groups are booked on all weekdays (provided the space is available) from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. If you have any questions or would like to sign your group up for a session, please contact Tails Director of Volunteers and Community Outreach at email@example.com
All groups must sign our waiver, dress code agreement and follow the dress code while completing a service day or crafting crew at the shelter. Groups with volunteers under the age of 16 must have an adult supervisor (18 years+) for every 3-4 individuals.
