Women Helping Women is accepting applications for new volunteers! Each volunteer must fill out an application, complete an interview, pass a background check, and complete training.

WHW Volunteers do the following:

Survivor Support Services:
* These roles require 40 hour training for accepted volunteers.

  • Respond to hospitals 24-hours a day to support survivors
  • Answer hotline calls
  • Attend court hearings with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking
  • Facilitate teen dating/sexual violence prevention programs in local schools
Agency Support Services:
*These roles require 6-8 hours of training
  • Babysit children of clients at WHW office during weekly support groups
  • Attend community awareness/tabling events
  • Help with data input
  • Assist with fundraising events and agency development
  • Help out with other office tasks as needed
We ask that each volunteer who completes training commit to at least ONE YEAR of volunteering. After completing training, volunteers can choose any combination of the opportunities above. Some opportunities require being on call over night, others require being available during regular business hours, and others require weekend volunteering. Mission Statement

Women Helping Women empowers survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking by providing advocacy, support and options for safety and educates the community to create social change.


Founded in 1973, Women Helping Women provides crisis intervention and support services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking in Hamilton County and survivors of sexual assault in Butler County. The agency also takes a leading role in building awareness in the community to prevent these crimes. We are dedicated to serving women and men of all backgrounds, sexual orientations and abilities.

Survivor services include a 24 hour crisis hotline, one on one crisis intervention, court advocacy, assistance with filing protection orders, support groups, and hospital accompaniment.

Women Helping Women also provides community presentations, professional education, and has a teen dating/sexual violence prevention program in many schools in the area.

Women Helping Women is funded in part the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Butler County United Way, United Way of Oxford, Ohio and Vicinity, and other sources of private and public support.
