The Alachua County Crisis Center is seeking volunteers to become Crisis Line Counselors. This is an opportunity to impact the lives of fellow community members and to gain life-enhancing communication skills. Applicants who possess the necessary initial qualifications (see our web site at http://www.alachuacounty.us/crisis for details) must complete an intense training program, designed to provide each person with adequate skills to perform effectively on the phone. Training consists of one full Saturday (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) followed by six weeks of classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
