Women Living Well Ministries (WLWM) is dedicated to fulfilling the ministries' mission. We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator who is an experienced, take-charge professional with the ability to manage professional support staff (volunteers), ensuring those involved with Women Living Well Ministries receive encouragement, empowerment and support to fulfill their duties and responsibilities. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for volunteer supervision and coordination of matching volunteers with their gifts to serve in a Christian environment.
The position is one that is flexible and could be managed by one who has an already full-time position where the work is completed after hours of a daily work schedule. There is also flexibility around scheduled vacations, and one can work from home (candidate will need to have their own computer). The position is needed to volunteer 10 to 12 hours a week for one year (or longer if desired) to assist with administrative work for the ministry. Requirement to attend a once a month phone conference/Google Hangout Meeting as well as maintaining open communication via email is vital.
Assists with training & coordination of volunteers for different events and programs, while working alongside the Event Specialist Coordinator and President.
Must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
The Volunteer Coordinator should have a love for special event management and people, provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional, be a team player, and be able to build relationships with internal and external clients we serve and/or serve alongside with hosting an event as needed.
Qualifications:
The volunteer coordinator should have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in social service-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
The ability to communicate with, supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles - experience with volunteers preferred
Excellent communication skills, including writing proof read skills, and speaking
The ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities
Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics of sin and brokenness relating to individuals in crisis
Biblical knowledge and understanding of the Bible
Commitment to WLWM program’s goals and mission
Maintain open communication with President at all times with giving updates
Ability to remain calm under pressure. Many things can go wrong during an event, and something eventually will.
Responsibilities:
Assist and develop WLWM’s volunteer training program
Assist with researching and writing volunteer policies and procedures and role descriptions.
Assist in the recruiting, screening, interviewing and training of new volunteers
Ensure there is appropriate support and training for volunteers
Recruit volunteers
Promote volunteering (internally and externally) through recruitment and publicity strategies and campaigns
Review potential volunteer candidate profiles. Assign and match appropriate volunteers with their gifts to serve, in consultation with the president and/or executive director
Prepare, distribute and collect volunteer documentation
Help with developing and planning for event needs for volunteers with event specialist coordinator and president
Review, write and distribute volunteer appreciation notes
Maintain volunteer files in office
Assist with planning and attend volunteer appreciation events with event specialist coordinator and president
Assist volunteers with completion of volunteer applications, and match their gifts to serve in areas that will empower their gifts
Participate in volunteer evaluations as assigned by the president and/or executive director
Oversee assigned mentors and assist with identified needs
Attend staff meetings and assist in the evaluation of the program
Attend in-service meetings and assist with coordination if requested
Oversee, record and maintain volunteer hours contributed to WLWM
Attend conferences/retreats/events/meetings as requested by the president or executive director
Participate in performance evaluations of this position as directed by the president and/or executive director
Other duties as may be assigned by the president and/or executive director or of the board

Women Living Well Ministries desires to see women (and men) discover and fully experience their call and purpose to serve the living God. We serve women who desire to mature in their Christian faith and assist both women in the church and women ministry leaders to strengthen leadership and spiritual gifts as they serve and build God's Kingdom. We commit to faithfully teach sound biblical doctrine of the Word of God.
Women Living Well Ministries (WLWM) partners with local churches to create a venue where women can be taught the Word of God and grow in their faith. We serve alongside church ministerial staff and congregations either as a consultant, a teacher, and/or as a resource to partner alongside with hosting retreats and/or conferences that focus on studying the Word of God and how to have a deeper fellowship with the living God.
WLWM is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to foster and support the gifts and talents of volunteers and staff who serve alongside one another in forming a nonprofit team promoting, equipping and empowering excellence to those we serve and partner alongside within the community at large.
