You can empower a child to believe in themselves, and fulfill their potential.
HELP Newark is located on 60-68 Mt. Pleasant Ave. The mentoring program provides support to teens by providing activities promoting healthy choices, leadership and building self-esteem. They will be meeting every 2 nd and 4 th Tuesday from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM.
Mentoring USA's mission is to create sustained and supportive mentor relationships for children in need ages 7-22. The program matches youth with trained adult mentors who can guide them in developing better self-esteem, creating healthy relationships, and making positive life choices.
Mentors and mentees meet in a supervised environment at a set time and location. Mentoring USA partners with schools, community centers, foster care agencies, and other non-profits. All sites are supported by MUSA Program Managers who work directly with Site Supervisors at each location to ensure that the programs run smoothly.

Mentoring USA (www.mentoringusa.org) is a leading national site-based mentoring organization providing one-to-one trained adult mentors to youth in need to enable young people to achieve their potential. Description
In 1987 a statewide, non-partisan committee chaired by Matilda Raffa Cuomo, then First Lady of New York, established the New York State Mentoring Program. This initiative was developed in response to New York's alarming school drop out rates and teenage pregnancy. The program grew successfully from 1987 to 1995 and laid the groundwork for what would one day become Mentoring USA. Volunteer mentors were trained, screened, and matched with children in New York Schools, and similar to today's Mentoring USA programs, mentoring occurred on-site at the respective schools. In 1995 Mentoring USA became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Since its inception, Mentoring USA has provided mentors for more than 5,000 children.
