4-H Tech Wizards is a group mentoring program that focuses on the importance of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education and careers. Mentors and mentees meet weekly for two hours at a regularly scheduled program site with the support of program team members.
Almost anyone can be a mentor. Interest in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics is encouraged but mentors do not have to be experts. Mentors simply need to be caring, committed adults that have a couple of hours each week to spend with young people.
Mentor Requirements:
Age 15 or older
Agree to screening and background checks
Able to consistently mentor two hours a week for at least one year
Self-directed, positive, team player!
Willingness to explore new topics and complete mentor training
MSU Extension provides mentors with guidance, support and resources for working with youth and projects that can be explored together.
