4-H Tech Wizards

4-H Tech Wizards is a group mentoring program that focuses on the importance of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education and careers. Mentors and mentees meet weekly for two hours at a regularly scheduled program site with the support of program team members.

Almost anyone can be a mentor. Interest in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics is encouraged but mentors do not have to be experts. Mentors simply need to be caring, committed adults that have a couple of hours each week to spend with young people.

Mentor Requirements:

  • Age 15 or older

  • Agree to screening and background checks

  • Able to consistently mentor two hours a week for at least one year

  • Self-directed, positive, team player!

  • Willingness to explore new topics and complete mentor training

MSU Extension provides mentors with guidance, support and resources for working with youth and projects that can be explored together.
