Purpose: As a Bus Monitor at FIT's new Family Place Resource Center and Shelter, you will play a key role in helping homeless and at risk individuals and families in our community. Your role will be to aid the bus driver by monitoring children's behavior, providing safety tips, and creating meaningful relationships with children in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Aid the bus driver by riding the bus with the children to and/or from schoo

    • Monitor the children's behavior and provide safe travelling tip

    • Create meaningful relationships with children within the FIT community

Qualifications and Requirements:

This individual must be:

    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environmen

    • Capable of handling requests from children with diverse need

    • Capable of multi-taskin

    • Comfortable working with children from a variety of diverse background

    • General knowledge of appropriate safety skill

    • Dependable, courteous and helpful skills are strongly recommended!

Length of Assignment and Time Commitment

We ask that volunteers commit to riding the from approximately 8:00am-9:00am and/or 1:00pm-2:00pm. Our hope is for one volunteer to cover both the morning and evening shifts for the entire day, but it is not a priority.
