About

Love customer service, conversations and helping others? If so, then Habitat’s ReStore has a position for you! Our ReStore is booming and we need great cashiers to guarantee a smile on our customer's faces as they walk out that door.

Our Volunteer Cashiers are the face of the ReStore and are the first people our shoppers see when they walk through the door. We are looking for friendly, customer-oriented volunteers to ring up sales, label sold items, price smaller items, help answer the phones and even select the radio station! While cash handling experience is preferred, experience running a cash register is not - we’re happy to train the right person!

This position requires a training by a staff member. This will take place on site during a scheduled shift.

Responsibilities include understanding store hours and policies, completing cash and credit transactions, answering customer questions, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

We are looking for people that have the availability to work at least one regular weekly shift, previous cash handling experience, are people-oriented, flexible, and enthusiastic and have no criminal record.

Volunteering at the ReStore allows people to gain valuable work experience, have a flexible schedule, receive a store discount and have a positive impact right here in Milwaukee County!

Staffed largely by volunteers, Habitat’s ReStores are eco-friendly locations to both donate and shop for home building supplies and furnishings. Habitat’s ReStores carry overstocked, discounted, new and used building materials donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals. The stores are open to the public with all items sold at a fraction of the retail cost. ReStore donations benefit Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity's mission of building simple, decent and affordable homes in partnership with families in need.
