To assist museum staff by presenting field trip curriculum to visiting school groups during the Fall and Spring, giving historic house tours, and answering phones and taking messages during the off-season.

To preserve the historic Harn Homestead and educate the public about the territorial years of Oklahoma.

Description

The Harn Homestead and 1889er Museum is Oklahoma's premiere Victorian homestead. The Oklahoma homestead was originally claimed during the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889. We offer hands-on educational programming for elementary public, private and homeschool students. Our 9.4 acre facility is also available for corporate events, weddings, birthday parties, etc.

  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • Field trips take place from 10:00-1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays-Fridays. Historic house tours are offered daily, throughout hours of operation. Volunteers can anticipate a four-hour shift on their selected weekday.
  • Must be willing to dress in period costume to present field trip curriculum.
