Each year, the Fort Williams Park Foundation partners with Maine Home + Design to hold the Cape Elizabeth Garden Tour. This fundraising event requires over 100 volunteers to pull off successfully, and the proceeds support the Arboretum project in Fort Williams Park.
We need help on the day before the Tour, and especially on the day of the Tour, which is on Saturday, July 15.
Volunteer needs vary, and include: loading/unloading trucks with tables and chairs; staking directional signs in place at each of the 10 garden locations; serving as a docent at one of the gardens; guiding parking; working at registration in the Park; dismantling and returning tables, chairs and other materials from the Park and gardens back to the Foundatioin's office and the Community Center at the end of the day.
All volunteers get a free pass to go on the Tour before or after their shift.

- Foster collaboration, community participation and stewardship
- Provide opportunities for environmental education
- The Friends of Fort Williams Park (formerly, Fort Williams Park Foundation) was established in 2001. Our business operations and any work that we do in the Park is paid for by private donations, proceeds from events, and by grants from charitable foundations and the national government.
