Farm Product Manager Position:
Thank you for your interest in the full time Farm Product Manager "service-to-stay" position at Clear Sky Meditation Center. This position is for someone with experience developing value-added products from farm produce. We are a unique and progressive organization and are excited about bringing a talented, passionate, and eager person to our centre and spiritual community. In exchange for your time, energy, and expertise, you will join Clear Sky’s vibrant awakening community in their Karma Yoga Program. This program includes food and accommodation, regular meditation instruction and practice, training on integrating spirituality into daily life, effective communication, teamwork, and much more.

About our Food Forest:
Our one-acre food forest is one of Canada’s few larger cold climate systems. It was designed by Richard Walker and was planted in 2013, with the support of agroforestry initiative funding. Our food forest is being developed as a 'demonstration model’ of sustainable agroforestry systems in practice. Learning how to make a food forest system financially viable, recording sharable data and trying new things is a big part of our mandate.

Responsibilities:
You will be working with members of Clear Sky’s Kitchen, Farm and Food Forest team to ensure unique, high quality nutritious and delicious new product development with the intention of further developing a social enterprise. This will also include coordinating with kitchen as well as farm/food forest staff and volunteers to ensure the best possible use of food grown on-site for value added products. This position requires testing, research, development of products and contributing to a marketing and sales plane for these products. You’ll work with Clear Sky managers to coordinate the integration of marketing and sales of the Farm and Food Forest products within the overall functioning of our center.

You have current Food-safe certification and some experience in business planning.

You have a sincere interest in participating in a spiritual community. You have an openness and the desire to learn and practice meditative techniques along with the willingness and ability to engage in honest communication.
You have a deep appreciation that living and working with the onsite team and staff dedicated to awakening in this lifetime is a precious and rare opportunity.
We offer a supportive and challenging workplace where communication and personal growth are highly valued. As mentioned above, interest and participation in mindfulness and awakening in community are required. No religious affiliation or meditation experience is required.
Skills:
You will be the Farm Products Manager for Clear Sky Center. You will be working across all areas related to the development of unique, high quality, nutritious products and the planning involved with marketing and selling of these products. You will have some of the skills listed below and/or be willing to and eager to learn:
* Farm economics, experience running a farm market stall
* Post-harvest food production, experience in food processing and preservation
* Good observation and record-keeping skills
