St. Louis Civic Orchestra

With the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic the orchestra is considering how the 2020/2021 season will look.

The current plan is to divide into chamber groups of varying sizes. These groups have been rehearsing, mostly at members' homes (backyards, garages!). We plan to video each group's performance and post on social media to keep ourselves going and maintain contact with our audience.

Be sure and find us on Facebook @ StLouisCivicOrchestra and follow us and like us and share posts with your friends, as that really helps. You'll see pictures of some of the groups playing. For now there is no help that we can think of for volunteers but we are extremely grateful for our volunteers.

When we're able to hold concerts again the orchestra will be looking for individuals who can assist in the box office, serve as ushers for concerts which usually include 4 concert dates between October and April, as well as helping to serve refreshments during intermission. Orchestra members cannot easily take care of these tasks as they need to be on stage prior to the concert.

Mission Statement

The St. Louis Civic Orchestra is a true civic orchestra of 65 amateur and professional musicians devoted to their musical avocation, the performance of traditional, holiday and pops orchestral music. Its mission is to promote and preserve the world’s greatest musical creations through live performances by exceptional musicians in the community.

We are a community orchestra of mostly amateur musicians who enjoy the opportunity to rehearse and give performances 5 times a year. We have grown in membership and musical ability in recent years thanks to fine leadership, both artistic as well as administrative.
