We are a small historical organization looking for folks that would like to volunteer for a two-hour shift to share the history of the Lynnwood area with visitors at our museum at Heritage Park. You don't necessarily need to know the history of area; you can learn on the job!
Our volunteers commit to a two-hour shift from either 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays. You can commit to every week or a minimum of two shifts per month. You will work with an experienced host.
If you're not familiar with the history of the Lynnwood area much of it was logged by the Puget Mill Company and then platted to become 5-acre chicken farms. In the early 1920s it was the second largest egg producing community in the U.S. just behind Petaluma, California.
Our mission is to "develop a sense of history and culture of Alderwood Manor, Lynnwood, and surrounding communities through preservation, interpretation, education, outreach, research, and fellowship."
Please feel free to contact us with any questions. 425-775-4694 or at info@alderwood.org
