"If it wasn’t for my advocate I would have never know about the amount of support available to me in this situation."
"I have nothing, but know I want something different for my kids, and the advocate who answered my call last night reminder me I am strong enough to make changes for them."
Are you ready to help victims of violent intimate partnerships stop the cycle of abuse? Could you see yourself being the advocate in the above statements? Are you guided by a desire to help others live brighter lives and seek out their best obtainable selves? DO you believe knowledge really is power?
Then I want you to join the Alternatives to Violence volunteer team. Whether you come to the office to answer calls and welcome courageous people into the services we provide, or become an active advocate responding to the crisis hotline 24/7 365, we at ATV want you to get your skills involved in the process from a victim to a survivor.
Engage our local community in gaining the education, knowledge, and resources available to victims of violent crimes. It is with the help of volunteers we spread the awareness on how to prevent, as well as heal, from violent crimes.
Make an impact this year by standing up to violence and bringing your skills to ATV to continue to encourage a violence free community.
"We have to come to the scene with calm courage and remind these victims they have choice, control, courage and options moving forward."-ATV advocate.
