Alternatives to Violence Safehouse advocate is a direct service role at our safehouse. This position includes: answering the crisis line, assistance with basic needs of the clients,cleaning and organizing the safehouse and rooms as needed, and involvement with staff to work with clients.

Mission Statement

Alternatives to Violence (ATV) is an agency committed to the intervention, education and prevention of domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes. Services are offered to female and male survivors of all ages and their families and support systems. Professional services are provided to law enforcement, the judicial system, schools and the community of Southern Larimer County.

Description

Alternatives to Violence offers 24-hour crisis intervention to all victims of violent crimes as well as short-term counseling and long-term legal advocacy. ATV also provides long-term adult, child and adolescent counseling, support groups and educational groups for individuals and families that have been impacted by domestic violence or sexual assault. Emergency services as well as community education and prevention are also provided to agencies and schools in the area. ATV also runs the largest transitional living program in the state serving women and children who are survivors of domestic violence.

  • We ask for a time commitment of one year, but we make exceptions and understand some individuals may not be able to commit to this time.
  • A 16 hour Core Training is required to work with our clients. This training is offered 4 times a year.
