Have a direct impact on saving lives by helping to manage one of our monthly Adoption Events at a specific venue. Manage and coordinate the monthly Adoption Event, including equipment and volunteers. Enjoy the satisfaction of helping get more animals adopted and into their new fur-ever homes.

Work with store managers to promote and advertise the scheduled adoption events. Manage/Supervise the actual Event each month. Work with Foster Coordinator to make sure foster animals get to the adoption event and make sure equipment gets from storage unit to event and back.

Make sure there are cage cards and/or info flyers for all adoptable animals at adoption events and that all cages are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each event and that towels are washed and returned to storage unit before next event. Make sure bins are kept stocked with brochures and other needed flyers/information and that bins are kept neat and orderly for next event.

Commitment:
  • 5-8 hours a month
  • 6-12 months

We are a foster-based, all-volunteer organization that saves and improves the lives of vulnerable animals by providing care and placing adoptable animals into loving forever homes.

Description

HSLC has been helping animals since our founding in 1966. HSLC has no paid staff nor a physical facility or shelter; all of our animals are in foster homes, display cages at local pet stores, or in temporary boarding until they are adopted into their furever homes.

Thanks to our volunteers and community support, HSLC helped thousands of animals in 2023:

  • Nearly 200 cats and dogs fostered
  • Over 200 community cats supported
  • Nearly 6,000 animals fed via the Loudoun Pet Pantry
