The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
Want to have fun and make new friends while helping your community? Life's Treasures Thrift Store, operated in support of LifePath Hospice, is always seeking volunteers to sort and price donations, display merchandise on the sales floor, maintain the window displays, run the cash registers, assist customers and help keep the stores neat and clean. We also need office help and people with expertise pricing and displaying collectible and designer merchandise. No retail experience is required, all training will be provided.
Donations to Life's Treasures are tax-deductible, and proceeds from sales help pay for a variety of LifePath Hospice’s unfunded programs, such as uninsured patient care; free community grief support programs for adults, teens, and children; end-of-life care education for USF medical students; and caregiver programs for patients with frail or elderly family members.
