What is Hospice?
Hospice is a form of care tailored specifically for the needs of individuals and families facing a life-limiting illness. A diverse medical care team works together to manage pain, increase comfort, and support every aspect of a patients physical, emotional, and spiritual health. The goal of hospice care is to help people live their last days with respect, peace, and dignity.

What can volunteers do?
There is a wide variety of ways volunteers can help! We match our volunteers with patients who have the same hobbies and interests.

  • Just being there for the patient
  • Reading their favorite book
  • Looking through old photo albums
  • Bringing baked goods,
  • Crafts/sewing/crocheting
  • Painting their nails/simple grooming
  • Light housekeeping/lawn care
  • Spritual Support
  • Therapy pets...and many, many ways to make our patients feel loved, comfortable, and valued.

Requirements & Commitment

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • 1-2 hours a week, or more if wanted.
  • Orientation and training provided.
