The Career Pathways Program provides free literacy instruction to adults seeking to obtain their Commonwealth Secondary School Certificate, to improve English as a Second Language skills, or to brush up on basic skills to enter postsecondary education, training or employment. We are seeking college students and college graduates with an interest in literacy to tutor with our adult education program. Training is provided, materials are FREE and the hours are flexible to fit your schedule.

Mission Statement
The Institute for the Study of Adult Literacy's Career Pathways Program offers adult learners free and individualized educational services in Centre and Lycoming counties in Pennsylvania, enabling them to realize and fulfill their personal, employment, and/or post-secondary goals. Volunteer tutors promote the cause of literacy and assist adult learners attain their college and career goals by providing one-to-one tutoring or small group tutoring of adults who need help with reading and writing, or basic English and civics assistance to new speakers of English.
Description
Help a neighbor by volunteering with the Institute for the Study of Adult Literacy’s Career Pathways program in Centre County.
We are seeking volunteers to assist adult learners and out of school youth boost their basic reading, writing, math, and English language skills enabling them to find work, obtain their GED, transition to college or training, making for a stronger community and economic base for all of us in Centre County.
Locations are convenient, schedules are flexible, and learners deeply appreciative.
