Volunteers are needed to make a trail more accessible to hikers and to people who wish to enjoy nature. Watchung Reservation Mountainside is a semi-wilderness oasis in the midst of a suburban development. Come be apart of this breathtaking experience.
Need To Know

  • Volunteers should arrive no later than 9:15a
  • Volunteer opportunity begins at 9:30a
  • Volunteers will receive a brief orientation upon arrival
  • Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes/boots, long pants, clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
  • Volunteers are encouraged to bring a hat, bug spray, sunscreen, snacks and water
  • Volunteers are encouraged but not required to bring a pair of work gloves, if you don’t a pair will be provided
  • The opportunity will take place rain or shine
  • Do not meet at the science center building. After parking, volunteers must walk downhill and meet at the small building on the left, across from the vegetable garden. That is the meetup location where volunteers will leave from. It looks like a log cabin.

Jersey Cares works to meet community needs by making volunteering easy and meaningful.
