While many of our neighborhood seniors don't drive anymore, it is very important that their driveways and sidewalks are kept clean from snow and ice.
Access to their mailboxes and homes are critical during the winter months when many home bound seniors can feel isolated and lonely. Receiving their mail daily is their window to the world. And, quick access to their front door could be critical if a medical emergency would occur.
This is a great family project! It could include hot cocoa and cookies and a friendly visit for a senior feeling snowed in.

Mission Statement
The mission of the NORTH END-SOUTH COMO BLOCK NURSE PROGRAM is to maintain levels of independence for our neighborhood seniors through the collaborative efforts of volunteers, professional staff and contracted in-home nursing services. Proudly helping neighborhood seniors since 1987
Description
We are a non-profit community based home-care agency supported by grants, city, county and state funding, and the generous donations of our neighbors.
It is our goal to have a volunteer readily available whenever a senior or their family member calls for help!
By bringing together volunteers and older people, we can serve as a bridge to building stronger communities, the same commuinities they helped to build. Stronger communities can in turn better meet the needs and develop the strengths of people living there now and in the future.
