The Volunteers meet at 9:00am on the last Saturday of every month to assemble 600 to 800 nutritional bagged lunches which are then distributed on through 5 different routes which are from Venice Beach to East Los Angeles. This month the date is the 30th. Volunteers that want to go on a route must wear close toed shoes, and be able to enter and exit a vehicle easily. We welcome children; age 14 or above, but they must be overseen by a parent or responsible adult.
Along with the lunches we also give out toiletries, clothing, blankets, shoes ect. All the above is done with a sense of the heart.
Looking for Interns who would like a position in running the Organization. Examples of this would be the following:

Mission Statement
"Under The Bridges and On the Streets" is a 501(c) (3), not-for-profit hands-on service organization. Founded ten years ago, "Under the Bridges" is dedicated to serving the homeless where they live, on the streets, under bridges and in camps. Our purpose is to provide food and clothing to those in need with an awareness of the heart. We are a direct service organization of volunteers who believe in the dignity of the individual and strive to enhance the lives of those we serve as well as those who serve. We meet the last Saturday of every month, join us and be of service!
Description
Our all-volunteer program prepares and distributes food, clothing and personal care items directly to the streets, feeding the homeless population of Los Angeles. We prepare nutritious bagged meals and deliver them along with personal care products, new and used clothing and blankets. We serve the homeless on the streets, where they live, which includes the elderly, men, women and children. A special aspect of our program is that we physically take food to the homeless, where they live, Under the Bridges and On the Streets. This often takes us into alleys, empty lots and other places where the homeless congregate. We personalize our service whenever possible, whether providing meatless sandwiches for vegetarians, turkey sandwiches for homeless Muslims, or sugar free treats for diabetics.
