Jahem, a true leader

"Tomorrow's Roundtable" is a documentary film project with a mission to empower children to accelerate their own education. Our story follows the journey of seven "at-risk" 6th and 7th graders in San Francisco who are in a new learning accelerator invented by kids. It's called "15 SEEDS." Currently the students in 15 SEEDS are learning to build and run their own company. On this journey, they experientially learn topics including financial literacy, business development, management, and public relations. This is packaged inside a foundation of > Wellness > Restorative Justice > Academic Impact

15 SEEDS is looking for entrepreneurial mentors, business trainers, management coaches, and advisors to work with a team of seven entrepreneurs in middle school. (Open to various fields, though our current program emphasis is on new media business development.) Ideal candidates will be experienced business professionals with entrepreneurial experience. Highly effective communicators with excellent listening skills who can strengthen our young entrepreneurs' business acumen. You will mentor and advise these adolescents in their entrepreneurial endeavors with a focus on sales success. The mentoring relationship is equally concerned with the development of the young entrepreneurs and the success of their business.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with and coach young entrepreneurs based on their individual needs, building their confidence and developing their capacity to launch and sustain their business enterprise.

Qualifications:

  • Able to create trusting relationships built on honor and responsibility toward these young men and women.

  • Patience and empathy to "get in the shoes" of young entrepreneurs, identifying and providing the support they need.

  • Ability to manage business strategy and effectively communicate with young entrepreneurs through your role as a mentor.

  • Be personable, energetic, innovative, analytical, and emotionally intelligent.

  • Comfortable being featured in documentary film.

WEEKLY SESSIONS:

Mission Statement

Tomorrow's Roundtable is a Kids For Peace project. Kids For Peace empowers children with projects that cultivate their abilities to foster peace. We were founded in 2006. Since then we have grown to 250 chapters, engaging children in 102 countries through over 10,000 volunteers internationally who share a loving vision of peace. Our signature event is The Great Kindness Challenge (GKC), where kids perform as many kind deeds as possible using a checklist. In 2015 GKC involved 2,188,669 kids at 4,128 schools in 47 countries. They performed 109,433,450 acts of kindness. As children perform kind acts, kindness becomes habit and peace becomes possible.

Description

Kids For Peace is excited and honored to introduce a program called "Tomorrow’s Roundtable." (TR) This program empowers children to create sustainable solutions to social problems. Something wonderful happens when children are entrusted with responsibility. TR gives kids a platform to create and launch a campaign to solve a community problem using their own hearts and minds. Currently, the program is working with a group of children helping disadvantaged children. These kids invented a platform that provides numerous education solutions to underserved communities. It includes comprehensive after school and extended learning elements that are holistic with an emphasis on individual learning styles, the arts, and in-depth use of the 5 senses.
