Want to help Volunteers in Psychotherapy by volunteering for an hour or two, wrapping presents?
Volunteers In Psychotherapy, Inc. is a nonprofit, charitable service,
approved as tax-exempt by the Internal Revenue Service, which provides
psychotherapy that is truly private, in exchange for volunteer work
clients donate to the charity of their choice: A nonprofit alternative
to the loss of client privacy and control experienced under managed care
and at public clinics. VIP has helped over 680 individuals and
families in the greater Hartford area since 1999.
[BTW, people can NOT earn therapy through volunteer giftwrapping for VIP... VIP
clients earn therapy through VIP by volunteering elsewhere in the
community.]
Volunteers (people like you) who support VIP
will wrap gifts as a charitable fundraising event at Barnes & Noble
Booksellers several days this December. Here's a listing of where we'll
be and when:
Glastonbury [Sun, 12/22 9AM-8PM]
Canton - Christmas Eve [Tues, 12/24 9AM-6PM].
If you join us, you'll be part of a group who will wrap books that
customers are buying. Customers can then choose to donate a few dollars
in support of VIP. Last year we earned a reasonable amount of money
which supported VIP's charitable service. And many Hartford area people
learned about VIP's work, since VIP Board members are also there,
giftwrapping and explaining VIP's work to customers.

Please call the VIP office to discuss specifics and scheduling [and thanks for helping!] 860-233-5115

About Volunteers In Psychotherapy
Location:

Mission Statement
Volunteers In Psychotherapy (VIP) provides strictly private therapy that our clients earn by volunteering elsewhere, privately and independently, for the charity of their choice: A nonprofit alternative to the lack of privacy and loss of client control experienced through managed care and in public clinics.
Description
People volunteer at hospitals, soup kitchens, volunteer fire and ambulance corps, public schools shelters, senior citizen programs and agencies which help children, the blind or disabled... and in exchange they earn counseling sessions with VIP's licensed psychotherapists, with no reports to insurers.
In 18 years of functioning, VIP has worked with over 630 individuals [sometimes couples or families with children].
The only service VIP provides is private therapy. We don't speak or write to anyone about our clients, and don't do evaluations.
