Join us to rescue fruits and veggies to feed hungry people

Tuesday, July 3, 2018--Gleaning corn at a farm near Lawrence, KS. A generous blackberry grower is offering up to 500lbs of blackberries to harvest and we need lots of volunteers! Come help bring nutritious produce to our hungry neighbors. If you can deliver to a food pantry, let us know.

Fruits and vegetables are going to waste in farmers’ fields. Can you help us save this fresh, nutritious produce to feed hungry families? At After the Harvest, we glean-gather excess fruits and vegetables that would otherwise go to waste-at farms and orchards and take that fresh, nutritious produce to food banks (like Harvesters) and pantries to feed hungry people in Kansas and Missouri.

Are you, your friends, family or organization looking for a fun activity while also helping others? Come join us! Breathe in fresh country air, get your hands a little dirty, bring the kids and help glean--gather excess produce at a farm or orchard within 30-45 min. of Kansas City. Then, if you can, help even more by delivering the fresh produce to local food banks and pantries.

Please let us know you’re interested in gleaning with us this season: Late May (sometimes earlier depending on weather) to November, for about three hours Mon-Sat mornings in the summer, with later start times in the fall.
