OPICA seeks an licensed RN that provides first aid when needed and at most makes recommendations to families. This position also involves mentoring RN students from local nursing colleges. OPICA is a community 'social' model. It is not a medical model; it is not medical model and therefore nurses that volunteer do not diagnose medical conditions. The position would be ideal for a semi-retired nurse who lives in the West Los Angeles area.
Desired requirements: experience working with age 60+ population; maintain an active RN license, recent TB clearance and active CPR and First Aid certification; be a team player willing to collaborate; able to provide leadership, create a learning environment and delegate work tasks to student nurses; strong interpersonal skills, be williing to have a Live Scan Fingerprint clearance if needed.
Hours: Must be available once a month on Thursdays and Fridays from 9am-3pm. Must be available to cover on more days if needed.
