National Volunteer Week 2021 Is Here!
Celebrate with us as we highlight #ArtAsActivism!
Pets for Vets is a rapidly growing national nonprofit that pairs shelter dogs with returning veterans to save lives and to increase the quality of life for those who have served our country. There are a lot of soldiers looking for companionship to battle PTSD, agoraphobia, etc. and a canine companion can do wonders, as you know! (See soldier video testimonials on our website www.PetsforVets.com) A veteran is chosen to receive a dog; an appropriate dog is chosen, adopted, trained and placed with the veteran forever. We are more interested in the quality of the placement than quantity of placements. We are looking for trainers who are interested in giving back. Each chapter has its own chairs/directors and trainer(s).

Pets for Vets is dedicated to providing a second chance for shelter pets by resucing, training and pairing them with America's veterans who could benefit from having an emotional support companion animal.
Pets for Vets selects shelter animals for each veteran to match his or her personality. Professional animal trainers rehabilitate the shelter dogs using positive reinforcement and teach the dogs good manners to fit into the veteran's lifestyle. Training can include desensitization to wheel chairs or crutches and recognizing and reacting to panic or anxiety disorder behaviors. Each pet will be spayed or neutered, healthy, up to date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Each veteran-pet mach is provided with all of the necessary equipment to start their new life together. This program is provided at no cost to the veteran.
We'll work with your schedule.
