IDEAS and our in-country partner have worked in medical projects for nearly two decades, serving the poor, disabled, children, leprosy-affected and otherwise marginalized people in China. The goal is to provide accessible and affordable healthcare to those currently without. There is also the goal of helping the staff of hospitals, clinics, medical education facilities and individuals to increase their ability to supply quality care to the marginalized.
The qualified applicants will spend a year or more in China providing primary health care to the Han Chinese, Chinese Minority, and expatriate communities with an emphasis on helping the poor and marginalized. You will also help in the training Chinese Family Medicine doctors through clinical work. The majority of work will be done in Mandarin Chinese. Some international patients speak English.
