Volunteers are needed to assist with workshops on healthy eating and exercising.
The Healthy Kids Broward KIDS THRIVE program is a 12-week series of classes designed for families of youth ages 10-18. Parents and youth will learn to cook healthy snacks and meals, engage in physical activity and make fun, healthy lifestyle choices in order to prevent obesity and diabetes.
Mondays and Wednesdays at Coral Springs, from 4:00pm-5:30pm from 11/30/15-1/25/16
Tuesdays and Thursdays at Fort Lauderdale, from 4:00pm-6:00pm from 12/1/15-1/21/16 or Hallandale from 3:00pm-5:00pm from 2/2/16-3/10/16
Fridays at Pembroke Pines from 6:15pm-8:45 pm from 12/4/15-1/23/16

Description
Purpose
The purpose of Eat Right. Get Moving. Repeat! and Operation Frontline is to provide long-term solutions to inactivity, hunger, and poor nutrition by teaching parents and children how to get moving, read recipes, and to select, purchase, and prepare healthy low-cost food for their families. These programs allow parents and children to prepare creative and fun meals together providing an automatic opportunity to interact and strengthen relationships.
