We are looking for persons willing to provide concentrated, one-on-one tutoring to our students needing support addressing specific reading deficits. Volunteers would be responsible for tasks such as: student pull-out, interfacing with staff and teachers regarding student progress, and monitoring upkeep of individualized learning plans.
We would prefer volunteers who are able to commit to 2-3 hours per week, as our goal would be for volunteers to work on a consistent basis to foster significant relationships with staff and students. Volunteers are welcome Monday-Friday, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm.

LAYC Career Academy engages and empowers young people between the ages of 16-24 by providing a college preparatory education, career training in high-growth occupations, and college-credit classes.
Description
The LAYC Career Academy is focused on transforming the lives of 16-24 year olds by partnering education with developing skills like self-awareness, self-confidence, problem-solving skills, and resilience. We also want students to leave our school feeling prepared for college or a career. To graduate, students have the choice of becoming a Medical Assistant, obtaining A+ Certification in the field of Information Technology, or earning six college credits.
