Old Colony Hospice is seeking dedicated human volunteers and their TRAINED therapy dogs to visit hospice patients right in your backyard. Pet therapy volunteers must have completed pet therapy training with their dog to qualify for this position.
Hospice Volunteers are an essential part of the hospice philosophy of care which recognizes that dying is not just a medical event, but a personal one as well. Volunteers are the very heart of hospice care and the time spent with patients is truly invaluable.
A comprehensice orientation is provided regarding hospice care and support before you get started. On going training is offered throughout the year. Volunteer support group meet quarterly.

Our Pet Therapy volunteers offer support to our patients within our service area covering 47 communities surrounding our home base in West Bridgewater.
All pet therapy volunteers must have completed pet therapy training and provide proof of rabies inoculation for their dog.
