Teaching program is running in government primary, higher and private schools in rural areas. The volunteers will work in the schools and organize various enjoyable and creative activities for the children to sharpen their talents and increase their knowledge.

The volunteer work continues to explore the hidden talents in the children and to promote them. The volunteers might find that they learn as much as from them as the children will learn from the volunteers.

The volunteers will assist in a wide variety of choosing subjects and activities, including English, Mathematics, Arts and Sports. Since volunteer activities are organized in Government Schools where acute shortage of teachers exists, the volunteers are therefore expected to focus mainly on the syllabus being taught in the Schools.

Volunteer work activities

  • Volunteers will teach the children English covers to their current syllabus.
  • In addition, you can teach the Alphabets, Counting, Days of weeks, Months of the year, Manners, Writing practice etc.
    • Teaching English - the main focus is on developing Basic English , computer skills, IT skills, and other subjects, conversational skills and some basic written English skills.
    • The students require vocabulary development and basic grammatical structures for spoken and written English.
    • Teaching Maths - this is a secondary focus area, as the students take maths with their class teacher during their Hindi classes. However, volunteers can work to further develop English language skills through maths teaching.
    • Creating a fun and playful environment with games
    • Creating low cost teaching materials and aids
    • Monitoring students’ attendance, health and hygiene - e.g. encouraging hand washing in order to protect from the spread of germs and maintaining good personal hygiene.
